ABOUT MUD PIES POTTERY

I am Karen Ayms, founder of Mud Pies Pottery.  My first experience with clay was in my art class at school. My school friends will recall the first lesson with clay when I was excited by the possibilities and creativity that clay provided. Since leaving school many moons ago, I have enjoyed creative hobbies such as crochet, needlework, gardening, painting, jewellery making and baking.  All these have skills that transfer into pottery.

I returned to pottery over 20 years ago with evening classes and achieved an A* GCSE in ceramics due in apart to my excellent teacher and amazing fellow students.

I haven't put clay down since, and have grown from table in the front room to a studio with wheel and kiln. I have continued to grow and develop my skills in clay by attending workshops and demonstrations and keep practising.

I have lots of experience in training and teaching of all ages, including corporate workshops, special evenings for a group of fiends, or a 1-to 1 session for an immersive  clay experience.
