Experience Packages

Mud Pies Pottery studio offers experience packages to individuals, groups or companies. Experiences range from 1-to-1 throwing to corporate team building or group fun sessions and clay days where the basic techniques of making with clay are explored in several makes in 1 day.

Clay is a creative medium that can produce beautiful pieces to be proud of.

Individual session held in the Studio with group sessions held in hired/agreed locations.

What to Expect

Sessions will be structured with all tuition, materials and clay provided. Building with clay is rewarding and therapeutic - our aim is to provide tuition and tips for successful builds that you'll be proud of.
Glazes and firing are included within the prices of the session for up to 3 pieces. Additional pieces can be glazed and fired for min £5 per piece depending on size. If you wish to glaze your own pieces a glaze session can be arranged at an additional cost where all glaze options and decoration can be discussed and tools provided.

On the Day..

On the day, please arrive no sooner than 5 mins before the session as there is limited space in the studio and to allow previous sessions to complete.

Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, some glazes may stain.
Bring an apron, coverall with roll up sleeves if working on the wheel.
Short nails are the potters friend... Long nails will make hard work of throwing and building.
Please advise if you don't like dogs as I have 2 dogs that may be in the garden but can be secured in the house if required.

Afterwards

There are no guarantees in pottery.. Even most experienced potters have pieces that dont survive the kiln or turn out as they expected.  Mud Pies pottery will provide their expertise to advise to the best of their ability techniques and methods to survive the kiln but provide no guarantees to their outcomes.

Don't love it until its been fired.

Mud Pies pottery reserve the right to make small alterations to pieces as they dry if seen to prevent breakage or explosion in the kiln to save other pieces, and clean off glazes to prevent sticking to kiln shelf.

Any pieces fired in the kiln should be from clay provided or full details or clay body and firing temperature to be provided.

Mud Pies Pottery will contact you to arrange collection of fired pieces within 4-6 weeks of the session.
